Before starting development on NeonPlat Adventures, I took great care to test all the alternatives.
I'd read online about OSX Lion breaking Blitz, and people needing to fuck about with lots of settings and things.
The scary part was that developing on Lion would probably break compatibility with Snow Leopard.

As such, I made a few test engines, and got people with Lion to test my games, to be 100% sure that, if I stuck with Snow Leopard, my games would be 100% compatible with BOTH sets of users.

I am extremely happy that everything works, and I had absolutely no intention of upgrading, and completely breaking the whole setup.

iOS 5.beta.2.something popped up on my iPod last night.
Obviously that broke a few things, and right now I'm banging my head trying to fix it.
I get everything going, and head over to XCode to continue with iOS NeonPlat.

Obviously it no longer recognises the iDevice.. Why would it.. It must be truely baffling seeing an iPod device with it's obscure version number! Argh!!

Time to upgrade the XCode version, too, then.
So I head over to the iDev Beta site, to grab the new one.

It's only available for Lion.

The choice set out by Apple is as follows.

Upgrade, or you ain't fucking coding this, anymore.. FUCK YOU, DEVELOPER.. MUA HA HA!!

I'm not stopping here.
This game's coming along in leaps and bounds, and I'm only just getting into the gritty bits.
Time to buy that upgrade then.

I'll probably lose a couple of days dev time, but it's probably about time that I did the "big" OS update for my Mac.

The downside is, of course, that I'll be losing my stable Blitz dev environment.
Quite frankly, this is the very worst possible time that this could happen, as I'm only just getting prepared to start Year 4.

well.. As the title of this rant says..
All future AGameAWeek games may similarly require OSX Lion.
I can do a quick test once all is up and running, but there's very little guarantee it'll work.

Fucking Apple, ffs..
